Add and verify a domain
Add a domain to the selected Account, publish its DNS TXT record, and verify ownership.
Before you start
To add or verify a domain, you need the Account owner role and permission to change its DNS records. Other roles can review domains when their service permissions allow it.
Review domains
Open Domains → Domains to search the Account's domains and filter by Pending verification, Verified, or Disabled. Open a domain to inspect its status and creation and verification dates. A pending domain also shows the TXT record to publish.
Start verification
- Open Domains → Domains.
- Select Add domain.
- Enter the root domain, such as
example.com. - Select Start verification.
Admin creates the Account Domain with the status Pending verification and opens its detail page.
Publish the DNS record
Copy the Type, Name, and Value shown under Verification record into your DNS provider. Publish the record exactly as shown. DNS changes can take time to become available through public resolvers.
Verify ownership
Select Verify DNS. When the Domain service finds the TXT record, the status changes to Verified and Admin records the verification date.
If the domain remains pending, follow Troubleshoot a pending domain.
Delete a domain
An Account owner can delete a domain only when no hostnames claim it. Deleting the domain removes its Account registration. Open the domain, select Delete, and confirm. Check that it no longer appears in the domain list. Remove or move every claimed hostname before retrying if the service rejects the deletion. Follow Troubleshoot an unavailable destructive action for the other dependencies Admin protects.
